For years, campaign managers, dedicated volunteers, balls and strikes callers, and even the winners and losers of the evening have gathered at Linda's Tavern to decompress after the first batch of ballots drops on election night. But this year, politicos will have to find a different place to raise a glass or drink away their sorrows: Linda’s Tavern is closed.
On Saturday, Linda’s cancelled brunch to repair a busted pipe. According to an Instagram post, they intended to be up and running again at 4pm the same day.
But Linda’s Tavern spoke too soon.
“That pipe was REAL busted y’all,” read the caption of a second Instagram post about the maintenance. “Linda’s will be closed for a few days while we sort out these plumbing issues. Stay tuned, we’ll let you know when we’re back to pouring beers!”
The Burner asked Linda’s if they would reopen in time for the usual, unofficial election festivities on Tuesday. The Instagram account confirmed that they would still be “undergoing plumbing work and will not reopen [Tuesday].”
While there’s no clear back up on the hill for primary night after parties, there’s still plenty of celebrations around town hosted by candidates.
So far, there’s two main parties where the location is publicly available. Mayoral candidate Katie Wilson, City Attorney Candidate Rory O’Sullivan, and District Two City Council candidate Jamie Fackler will host a joint election watch party at El Centro de la Raza starting at 6:30pm. Citywide City Council candidates Dionne Foster and Alexis Mercedes Rinck will link up with City Attorney Candidate Erika Evans for another joint party at Stoup Brewing at 7pm.
I’ll make an appearance at both and then stumble around the Hill. If you’re going to another party and see something fun, something inspiring, or just something that might make a good Instagram reel, take a video and send it to hannah@theburnerseattle.com.

For those a little further south, there is an election watch party in Renton, for the two progressive candidates Michael Westgaard and Carmen Rivera, running against two chamber of commerce flunkies that are both backed by the KC Republicans.
